touraid is a children’s charity whose aim is to create long term social and economic benefits for children from disadvantaged communities around the world. This is achieved by creating sustainable links between these communities and schools and clubs in the UK. The experience, support and rugby links through touraid continues to be excellent.

United Through Sport

This fitting charity – who specialise in sports development ‘uniting people around the world to play sport and tackle social inequality’ – has been invaluable already, putting Bhubesi Pride in touch with various contacts across southern Africa. The charity forms an excellent link and reiterates a common ethos with Bhubesi Pride, uniting young people through sport (rugby).

Working with children and young people in 49 developing countries around the world, it will be brilliant to support this charity by way of introducing [and developing] rugby within the African community. A full day visit to a Plan-affiliated project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has been set up.

SKRUM aims to give the youth of Swaziland HOPE for the future and for once the freedom of CHOICE in their lives through social education and the opportunity to play the wonderful game of RUGBY.

Friends of Rwandan Rugby

Friends of Rwandan Rugby (FoRR) supports school and community participation in the game of rugby, to promote reconciliation and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle amongst the Rwandan people.

The Umzingisi Foundation

Umzingisi uses sport as a tool to access disadvantaged and vulnerable youngsters. They deliver direct sports coaching to harness the benefits that sport can have on troubled youth, also running life orientation and skills programmes to focus on critical issues such as HIV/AIDS awareness, gender equality and self esteem.

Mkombozi Agency

Mkombozi (meaning “liberator, emancipator” in Swahili) supports Tanzania’s children and youth, including those at risk of vulnerability, through housing, education, research, advocacy, and outreach. Initially established in 1997, as a live-in residential centre and safe haven for children living on the streets, Mkombozi has expanded its vision over the years.
